12x16 in ~ Painting, Watercolor
Watercolour painting of an autumn day in Waterhead by Lake Windermere in the English Lake District. Windermere lake is the largest natural lake in the Lake District and in England at 10.5 miles long, one mile wide and depth of 220 feet. Autumn is a fabulous time with the display of vibrant oranges and rusty red colours of trees and ferns that are native in the area.
My main focus was the bright orange foliage of the tree on the left which is contrasted with the grey overall look of the rest of the painting with just a few spots of colours to indicate the colours of the boats on a typical hazy day. My other focus was the light and reflections. The lake looked almost mirror-like.
Watercolour on paper. Size: 16 x 12 inches. Year: 2020
