12x16 in ~ Painting, Watercolor
This is my second attempt to paint this same scene which is in my neighbourhood in NW London in England. This forest is the remainder of a large ancient forest that's now called Hampstead Heath or part of it. Autumn is a special time as the trees display their bright orange and magenta colours. There are many maple trees too which I particularly like. My main interest was colour and light that hits the forest ground. It really is a magical and colourful place during the fall season with oranges, magentas and some bright greens. People often gather, picnic or play guitar under the group of trees that is the central focus in this landscape.
