15x22 in ~ Painting, Watercolor
This is a second version of a previous smaller sketch of the same scene on the Island of Fuerteventura, near Sotavento beach. Fuerteventura is particularly famous for its never-ending white sandy beaches with beautiful turquoise waters. The Canary Islands are my frequent painting destinations. I find the rusty-coloured rocky landscape surrounded by all shades of blue of the ocean irresistible. Many of the beaches just like this one pictured seem desolate with very few people which make them the perfect subject. My only enemy on these islands is the strong wind. Behind these rocks I found a sheltered spot from where I sketched a smaller version of this scene, which is also up for sale.
Watercolour on Arches paper. Size: 22 x 15 inches. Year: 2021.
