10.6x13.8 in ~ Painting, Watercolor
I was surprised to see the camellias already blossoming in my local park in NW London which inspired me to do this painting. I started off with the abstract, irregular shapes of the pink flowers using my japanese brush which is suitable to create marks that resemble foliage and flower petals. I worked around the flowers dipping my brush into the golden greens and then bluish greens to create depth as it was in reality. The result is a very loose, almost abstract botanical painting.
Watercolour on paper. Size: 35 x 27 cm. Year: 2022.
