This is the beach near the village of Hope Cove in Devon, about 5 miles from Salcombe. It was the first time I visited the area in 2015. I was fascinated by the rusty colours of the minerals of the hillside that reflects in the sea. The light was to my advantage as well that day. A breathtaking place indeed that will inspire me to paint again and again. I was working quite fast with a large brush as I didn't want to get into small details but rather capture the feel of the place that day.
