Watercolour painting of the main square of Kapitolplatz in Salzburg city centre in Austria. On my last visit on a rainy autumn day I took this photo of the traditional horse-drawn carriages on the square which inspired me to paint it. The rainy scene is quite typical of this city. I started off with warm colours for my first wash so my version is more of a sunset scene. I used earthy colours to portray the mood of the place that day.
