This is the 3rd time I paint this scene, each time slightly differently. Painted from sketches done on the North Norfolk coast years ago plus using my imagination to create this atmospheric coastal scene. I kept the boats in sharp focus as they were my main subject and the surrounding area very soft. The result is a very calm landscape. I mainly used blue and red to mix greys then used those colours in their pure form to highlight the boats.
