Painted from a photo and also an initial sketch done on location on this beautiful stretch of the coastline of Cornwall. I was just approaching Land's End when I took a little stop to sketch this scene in my sketchbook. Although it was an overcast day, I turned this version into a more colourful and uplifting one by enhancing the colours. The contrast of the turquoise blue of the sea and the rusty shades of the cliffs I find irresistible. This perfect balance created by nature fills the viewer with positive energy and puts him in a state of complete relaxation.
