An impressionistic watercolour painting of the landscape around Zelene Pleso or Green Lake in the High Tatras Mountains in Slovakia. I visited this area some years ago and did numerous sketches on location. This was painted from a photo however as it was freezing cold that day. I particularly liked this lake for it's deep green colour surrounded by the sunlit boulders and rocks along its shore. There's also a view of the guesthouse/hotel on the other side which wasn't my main focus but its red colour breaks up the greens in the background.
I worked from top to bottom, wet into wet to create this impressionistic effect with various textures.
