Flowers are an artist's best friends! I couldn't live in a world without flowers and after the long, dark winter days I'm eagerly waiting for the first blossoms to appear so that I can portray their beauty. First the stars of spring, the bright yellow daffodils, crisp magnolias, tulips, then a feast of colours displayed by delicate poppies, roses, meadow flowers and of course my favourites, waterlilies! Out of all subjects, painting flowers gives me the most freedom and I often experiment wit1 Flowers are an artist's best friends! Out of all subjects, painting flowers gives me the most freedom and I often experiment with new techniques and colours. It also allows me to create textures. I also try to capture the characteristics of the flowers, such as the delicate nature of poppies.
