Landscape painting is what I specialise in as I love travelling around the world and I often paint or sketch of location. It all started when I set out to travel around Britain or at least to visit some of the most scenic places. Equipped with my sketchbooks I set off on my journey doing little sketches along the way. Then I started painting larger landscapes on my easel. As I gained more confidence, I travelled to other parts of Europe: Spain, Albania, Hungary, Slovakia. I even had the luck1
Landscape painting is what I specialise in as I love travelling around the world and I often paint or sketch of location. It all started when I set out to travel around Britain or at least to visit some of the most scenic places. Equipped with my sketchbooks I set off on my journey doing little sketches along the way. Then I started painting larger landscapes on my easel. As I gained more confidence, I travelled to other parts of Europe: Spain, Albania, Hungary, Slovakia. I even had the luck to go further afield to countries in Southern Africa where I sketched and sketched. These days I do a lot of studio painting using photos or some of my old sketches. This is due to my condition which affects my vision and so travelling and working outdoors isn't as easy as it used to be. I paint landscapes in various styles although always quite loosely and freely. I prefer to paint peaceful places such as a lakeside and particularly like reflections. I aim to create a harmonious effect and capture a moment of calm.
